Psychocross 2009

Yesterday I met up with Graham to head to Dick Lane Velodrome for the 2009 Psychocross Halloween cyclocross jammity jam. It was probably the most fun race I have been to to date!  The weather was shitty, which was great for this type of racing. We drank a bunch of beer.
Here are a bunch of [...]

some kind of rocket bike things…

Dunno much  bout these. This one looks like it is some kind of compressed air system or something, which might be kind of neat if the system charges by way of pedal power.

This one looks like it might be some kind of fuel mixture rocket jet kind of thing. I’m thinking the two cylinders hold [...]

disgusted

Yes I am completely disgusted with myself for not having ridden at all this year. i apologize to myself for being so lame.
I’ll get around to it…really.

yellow and dub

okay, so…there was a time when yellow seats were abundant, but that time is past. Now, you aren’t getting a yellow seat unless you want to shell out some serious corn, which I do not. A yellow seat would be the final finishing touch on my fixed gear, but I’m afraid I’ll have to wait [...]

Brush the dust off

Okay so the Tour Down Under has started. First race was a criterium 51KM. Robbie McEwen won. Lance came in 64th, 23 seconds back. For those of you NOT following ol Fancy Pants on twitter, you missed a poll earlier this week as to whether he should run yellow or black lever hoods. I personally [...]

23 days: the final word

Okay so I finished the 23 Days in July book. I am almost willing to bet that the author had no idea this book was going to be about Lance Armstrong when he started it. How could he have possibly known Armstrong would win? This shows along the way as the book really is a [...]

tarty tart, Gold edition

Its been a while since I’ve posted any bike tarts.

I believe she is running those Campagnolo parallelogram brakes that you jizz your sheets over.

23 days

Continuing my theme of reading but not riding, I hit the library and picked up 23Days in July: Inside Lance Armstrong’s Record Breaking Tour De France Victory. The writer is John Wilcockson, who according to the back cover flap info has covered the TDF since 1977.
We’ll see how it goes.
Hopefully I’ll be back to riding [...]

Positively False

Okay so I finished reading the Floyd Landis book. It was an interesting read or someone like me who knows very little about the road bike racing scene. Maybe it was made more interesting because I read “Inside the Tour De France” at the same time, which was a collection of single page anecdotes about [...]

The Big Landowski

I guess this is supposed to be some sort of tongue in cheek Big Lebowski spoof, starring ol Floyd Landis. The picture is great:

You can read the article/ad/spoof or whatever it is here
So far, the book I’m reading by Floyd is pretty good.
