broken hearts

Well, I was away in South Carolina and missed all the SOPO Broken Hearts festivities. Saw some of the pics from the race…looked fun. I hope the whole thing turned out awesome. Next year I’ll make sure I don’t schedule an our of town trip the same weekend.
Now, as soon as I stop hacking up [...]

bookish type

It’s a pretty crap day outside for riding, but a great day to stay inside and read. Since I had to return some books to the brand new library jjust around the corner from my hut, I figured I would check out what they had to offer as far as bikey reading. Believe it or [...]

well it was bound to happen…

I knew it was only a matter of time. Spotted over at the awesome Hong Kong Fixed Gear blog, is this photo of a fixie that is clearly running pegs:

I haven’t seen any yet, but given that this pic now exists, we should soon start to see vid footage of the fixed gear freestyle crowd [...]

SOPO bicycle frame art show closing reception

To close out a full week of bikey related things dominating my schedule, Graham, Chadd and I headed over to RADIAL for the closing reception of the SOPO Bikes bicycle frame art show + auction. On the downside, it had been raining on and off all afternoon, so we decided to actually drive over instead [...]

gettin fixed

It’s been 6 weeks now since I built The Fooj. It’s the only bike I’ve ridden since then, as I intended to spend some quality time getting used to riding a fixed gear to see how I like it. Today I finally got out the old Scatmobile for a geared ride, so I’m [...]

Puegeot fixie update! The POOJ

Still a few more upgrades to go, but the wheels worked out nicely. Unfortunately, the brake is now useless becayse the brake arms aren’t long enough and the pads rub against the tires if I have to use them. No biggie…I can stop with lg power now that I have the fixed wheelset.

Low Budget Soul Rider creates Frankenbike

Low Budget Soul Rider was the name of a loose crew of riders I used to hang with back in Baltimore. The name pretty much explains it all. I’m LBSR for life, seen?
Today my Peugeot morphed into the Frankenbike. As I reported yesterday, the goal was to get the thing as close to a fixed [...]

The Convert (aka The Fooj)

After the huge waste of time that was the Rapido, the Fuji has been good to me. With tons of help and know-how from Bob and some tools at Sopo, this conversion went quick and easy.
Last week we got most of it stripped down and a few of the new parts installed, but lacking [...]
