another one

Holy crap I actually went for another ride this month!
Lugged the fixed gear over to Suwanee Greenway. I had to park at a different spot than I usually do. The new spot is smack in the middle of the length of the trail. See, this was my first time at SGW on the fixed so [...]

statistics

i don’t recall ever seeing any fixed gear bikes with bike computers on them. there may be one soon, because I am considering popping one on mine. i’m a stats junkie, and since my fixed is the only workiong bike i have…etc etc etc

butt pain is the penance

Second ride of the year. Nothing special just logging miles at Suwanee Greenway to get my -base- up. Took out Ye Ol’  GT Talera, which always amazes me. It is the bike that doesn’t get to stay in the nice shed, it stays under the house in te damp crawlspace, yet it always works so [...]

stats check

My total mileage for the year is a measly 423.72, average speed 8.08 mph.
I could be kind of bummed about that low figure, but then again, some people have an mileage total of COUCH and an average speed of 0.

Tour de Slowpoke

I’ve enjoyed a few rides on the geared road bike recently, but I’ve also started watching some bike racing on TV, and boy is that a humbling combination.  Not that I expect to be in the same league as the pros, but they outclass me so many times over, it’s just embarrassing.
Today when I got [...]

rides and how excel is effecting

I’ve ridden Gainesville College, Ft Yargo, and Chicopee this week! There has been a little break in the Georgia summer heat, so I figured I’d better take advantage of it while I can. Long rides (well, long for me anyway) are going to get harder and harder as it gets hotter, due to not being [...]

Excel log and SGW + Talera

You know, I just can’t figure out why I love Ye Ol GT Talera so much. There is just something about that bike. I mean, it’s old, and isn’t even close to high end, and for most of the year it sits dormant under my hut. But when I finally break it out, pump up [...]

standard GCT + overspray

Not much to report…I’ve been kind of lethargic with the recent heat. I did manage to head over to GCT for my standard 2 looper. This was the first ride after doing the spoke replacement repair on the rear wheel, so I didn’t go too hard…I kind of like to let the wheel settle in [...]

2 rides logged with some mechanical issues and loss

Tuesday: The standard GCT  loop, backwards and forwards. Man it was HOT.  First time riding this year where I  really was happy about finally mounting a water bottle cage on the bike. That is, until I noticed that the cage was loose, and upon checking it out, discovered that the “braze ons” actually aren’t [...]

experimental fix

Last post I was saying that once again my rear shifter on the mountain bike was at the point where you practically had to stand on it to make it work. I’d worked out an idea for how to fix one of the problem areas to see if it would help make the entire system [...]
