Central Park, Cumming GA 10.12.07

G-Dub and I hit Central Park for some early morning shenanigans. First off we hit the Cross Country trail which was a bucket of fun. Mainly it was pretty flat with only one somewhat tough climb, and a bunch of it was sort of like being on a monorail due to a VERY thin singletrack cut through the grass. Even with my arm still injured, we were able to open up and actually hit a few of the downhills with some speed. This would be a fun course for a race.

stats:
Time Moving: 1hr 25min 34sec
Distance: 10.81mi
Average Speed: 7.5mph*
Max Speed: 24.4mph
*computer was left on during freeride portion

Of course, we HAD to hit up the freeride park, which was awesome. We had the whole place to ourselves, so we could carve around at beginner level w/o feeling like serious scrubs. G-dub gets the ballsiness award of the day for pulling off one of he drop off jumps. It’s only about a foot off the ground, but believe me, a foot is all you need to fall to hurt yourself, especially when you are trying a drop using clipless pedals like he did. Of course I did that -thing- where I landed in just the right angle to have extreme pain shoot up my arm, but I recovered from that pretty fast and continued to try and get a few jumps in. Heres Greg earning his pilots license:
