The PATH Foundation needs your support Atlanta!
Most cyclists in Atlanta and the surrounding areas are quite familiar with the PATH Foundation. For those who are not, PATH has developed more than 100 miles of trails throughout northern Georgia and has become a nationally recognized model for trail-building success. PATH’s linear parks have become part of the landscape in urban and rural areas, in affluent and impoverished communities. PATH trails are bringing people together from all races, ages, income levels and cultural backgrounds.
Every year, the PATH Foundation hosts an event that allows supporters, volunteers, Board members and cyclists in the community to come together, mingle, and just have a great time getting to know one another and show their support for the PATH Foundation. This year, we invite each of you to join us. The event this year is being held at Park Tavern in Midtown on the corner of 10th Street and Monroe Avenue. Your admission includes complimentary food, beer, wine, and live music by Atlanta’s local Hightide Blues.
2008 admission is only $30 per person! We sold out last year! The team was thrilled so many folks came out, but we hated to turn people away. This year, our venue is larger and more accomodating and we highly recommend buying your tickets in advance. Discount tickets are available online using promo code “WebPromo”.
I’ll see you at the door!
SILVER COMET TRAIL – WE HAVE A DATE!!
The last 2.5 miles of the Silver Comet trail are scheduled to be under construction in May! The Georgia DOT has also given PATH the date of August 25th as the target date for allowing the trail to be completed under the US-27 Bypass bridge near Cedartown. Barring unforeseen delays, the Silver Comet Trail will be seamless from Smyrna to the state line before Labor Day!
